Blizzcon is a convention that Blizzard hold every year to announce stuff related to their products. In past years expansions to World of Warcraft were announced and access to the Starcraft II beta was given to attendees. Blizzcon wow items 2011 has started earlier today, and already one big piece of new has been announced. If you are an annual subscriber to World of Warcraft, Blizzards epic MMORPG, you will get Diablo III completely free of charge. Co-founder of Blizzard,Mike Morhaim, said that all who purchase a 12-month pass for World of Warcraft will still be able to get Diablo II for free when it launches. No time frame or other limitations were mentioned with this announcement, but it possible to see one come up in the future. On top of getting Diablo 3 for free annual subscribers will also get an exclusive mount and access to the next World of Warcraft expansion, Mists of Pandaria.

This is a great move on Blizzards part to reward their annual subscribers and possibly keep players from jumping over to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. With the annual pass costing about $180 it is not something that you would want to buy just to get Diablo III for free. This deal is mostly for current players giving them an incentive to re-up their subscription and maybe to get old players back on. The date for Diablo III has not been announced, but knowing Blizzard it will not be coming out until its perfect.
