Songs buy wow gear from under the floorboards

A week today I'll be helping out on a three day festival that's bringing the sound of wow items music to the small bohemian enclave of Ramsbottom. The whole town seems abuzz about it and quite rightly so as it combines crowd pleasers like Guillemots, Badly Drawn Boy and The Waterboys alongside the legendary Steve Cropper and a full and eclectic supporting cast. Not bad for year one really

Right now we're up to our eyes in colour coded wristbands, volunteer rotas and AA signage but in just seven days thousands are heading to our hills for what we're hoping will be the start of something pretty special.

So for any new visitors led astray by a hashtag, this is my music blog full wow gold of fuzzy memories and the tunes that soundtracked a misspent youth. I was always going to post something to tie in with the festival but rather than pick on the obvious I decided to highlight a reason you should make the effort to be with us from noon on Saturday.

Stephen Hudson is one of the winners of a competition we ran to find an opening act for each day and I was just stunned by the as yet unreleased track he'd uploaded - Song For Dan - and its soft touch piano, Elliott Smith vocals and the kind of slide guitar I haven't heard since Dave Roback hit pay dirt with Mazzy Star.

This single is the Lancastrian's DIY debut release from last year although I'm told an wow gold album is now nearing completion and in need of a label / distribution. The songs were recorded above the music shop he works at by day and came packaged in an incredible handmade sleeve lovingly constructed with a craft knife, some spray mount and unstoppable imagination.

Tallulah's always been a glamorous name. I'm also quite taken with second track Everyone's Cheating which adds glockenspiel and trumpet to a piano led charge and reinforces my belief that we're in the presence of a genuinely gifted talent here.

If I can make time to see one act over the three days wow items of the festival it's going to be Stephen Hudson who'll be playing with his group the Fiat Pandas at 12.30 on the 17th. I hope plenty more of you get there fashionably early and check him out too

Good to hear from you and despite the lack of sleep and torrential rain, the festival was amazing. Cropper's between songs anecdotes were genius as were The Waterboys but there was loads of other cool stuff I hadn't been familiar with or seen live like Kid British and of course this guy, Stephen Hudson.

I'm really pleased you like his single and will put you both in touch. Would be great if you have any compilations or cover version opportunities you might be able to put his way. I know you'll love his stuff - he's a music lover like us.
